Lionsgate Reportedly Working On Live Action Naruto Film

You heard it, geeks! Lionsgate is reportedly moving forward with their plans to produce a live-action Naruto film according to a recent report from The Tracking Board

The insider report states that upcoming director Michael Gracey will be directing the adaptation, which is being produced by Avi Arad, who many people are familiar with as the producer of the popular Spiderman and Amazing Spiderman films.

Gracey has a background in animation and effects that could possibly be suitable for a successful film adaptation of the popular 15 year long anime series. Naruto is said to be one of his several big directorial projects that he is currently working on at this current moment. He’s also working on an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Witches, the Jim Henson biopic Muppet Man, and the P.T. Barnum musical The Greatest Showman on Earth.

Now as some of you may not know the Naruto series has ended it’s successful 15-year long run. The story of the series focuses on Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who dreams of one day become his village’s Hokage, or acknowledged leader. The series has already been adapted into a popular anime series, and a new animated movie, Boruto: Naruto the Movie, is set to premiere in Japan on Aug. 7 before debuting in the United States in October.

My questions for you geeks are do you think this film will succeed whereas other live action adaptations have failed? Would you go see it? Let us know in the comments!

  1. “Naruto” owes much of its popularity to a winning mixture of magical ninja techniques, fights, slapstick comedy and friendship…”Road to Ninja” provides all the familiar elements and just enough sentiment to delight the legions of Naruto fans.
