True Blood’s Rutina Wesley Role on Arrow Unveiled

RT

Prepare yourselves, Arrow-heads! True Blood’s Rutina Wesley’s role on the CW’s Arrow has been finally revealed! Rutina Wesley has been officially confirmed to play Lady Cop in a multi-episode story arc on Arrow, The Hollywood Reporter  confirmed yesterday at the Television Critics Association.

Lady Cop, however is not a generic or nameless female cop that you would think of as an extra. “Lady Cop” is something that perhaps comic book readers would probably remember Liza Warner, Wesley’s Arrow character and a member of the anti-vigilante task force.

The new task force will definitely be very busy in the coming season because of the increased vigilante activity in and around Starling City.

Now to those of you who do not know Warner’s background then you should know that in the comics she was the only survivor of the “Killer-in-Boots”, who had murdered her college roommates. The traumatizing event had a massive impact on her and fueled her decision to become a police officer. She would stop several criminals on the force and was determined to catch the killer who had changed her life.

Later on she would be promoted to the office of Ivy Town’s Chief of Police and frequently helped out onetime Atom Ryan Choi but she isn’t necessarily poised to help out superheroes just yet in the series. Now that doesn’t mean she will always be against them and it certainly stands to reason that she could still partner up with Ray Palmer in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Arrow returns on October 7th, airing all new episodes Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW
