Benicio Del Toro Becomes One With The Dark Side In Star Wars Episode VIII

BDT The Dark Side is flowing through Benicio del Toro’s veins as he adds another great role to his track record!Guardians of The Galaxy star Benicio Del Toro has been rumored to be playing an unknown villain role in Star Wars Episode VIII but he now has stated that he cannot say too much about the role. The 48 year old Oscar winner thinks that it will happen and he is very excited to be involved in the project.

Del Toro recently told Entertainment Tonight that the script is hard for him to get. He jokingly stated that they would “cut his finger off” if he even talked about it. Now obviously nobody would want to see Benicio lose his fingers. Especially since he will be needing them if he intends to pick up a lightsaber.

Although he could not share too many details about the upcoming project, he did share details about himself and how he is a huge Star Wars fan. “I saw the original one when it came out and it marked me,” said Del Toro. “I was impressed by the film and by the characters and by the story and the message.”

Now obviously some people may doubt his acting prowess when it comes to doing something like Star Wars or Marvel but don’t count him out as someone who cannot do a villain. Del Toro has created a villainous atmosphere for himself in 2012’s Savages, as Lado, the Mexican drug lord. He also portrayed infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar in Escobar: Paradise Lost in 2014.

Are you excited that Benicio Del Toro could be landing a role in the next Star Wars? We may receive more news this weekend as Disney commences it’s D23 Expo in Anaheim.
